Greedy Apostrophe: A Cautionary Tale
Ella picked this book up at the library and had me read it about 6 times to her: Greedy Apostrophe: A Cautionary Tale by Jan Carr. This book is meant to teach the lesson of how to not use an apostrophe, but the story is interesting enough that Ella loved it. Each punctuation mark is alive and with personality, and when one breaks the rules and confuses readers the race is on to catch it. Pretty silly, and the Greedy Apostophe is rude and won't take the oath to follow the rules. Not a book I'd usually recommend, but it does teach grammer in a way that our children want to hear it.

Sir Cumference and the First Round Table: A Math Adventure
The Scrambled States of America
Laurel (then 10) asked me to get this book, it is really a favorite of hers. It takes a while to read all the little funny comments that the states make, but I think that's their favorite part! I must admit it is rather silly. We also have the game, which we played 3 times a week for the first month we got it. Because of this book and game, Laurel knows nearly all her states.
